Audio License FAQ (Detailed)

This page explains, in plain English, how you can use Exotic Music sample packs, sound packs, preset packs, and any included templates/project files. It’s designed to answer the most common questions: streaming, monetization, client work, credits, reselling, and the template “50% change” rule.

Quick answers (fast)

Royalty-free

Yes: You can use our sounds in your own music and content — including Spotify, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Apple Music, podcasts, films, games, ads, and other commercial projects.

No: You cannot resell, share, trade, re-upload, or redistribute the packs/templates themselves (ZIP/files), even for free. You also cannot release templates/project files in their original form as your “finished tracks.”

The simple rule

Use the sounds to make your own original music. Don’t redistribute the original files. If you use a template, change the melody and chord progression by at least 50% and build a clearly original result.

If anything is unclear, email us before release: Contact@Exoticmusic.us.

1) What does “royalty-free” mean for Exotic Music products?

“Royalty-free” means you can use the licensed sounds (samples, loops, one-shots, presets, and sound effects) in your own productions without paying us additional royalties per stream, per view, or per sale. Once you purchase, you can create and release your music commercially using those sounds.

Royalty-free does not mean “free to share the files” or “free to re-sell.” The product files remain protected. You’re buying the right to use the sounds in your own work — not the right to distribute the pack as a competing product.

In short: you can monetize your music and content. You cannot redistribute our packs/templates or claim ownership of the raw files.

2) Can I use your samples on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.?

Yes. You can use the licensed sounds inside your own songs, beats, instrumentals, and content and distribute them on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, SoundCloud, Beatport, and similar services.

The key requirement is that you are releasing your own original composition/production, not reposting or distributing our files as a standalone asset.

  • Allowed: releasing a song that includes our drums, FX, presets, or modified loops.
  • Not allowed: uploading a ZIP/pack to a platform, or uploading “the pack” as downloadable content.
3) Can I monetize YouTube videos that include your sounds?

Yes. Monetization is allowed when our sounds are used inside your own project (music track, background score, intro/outro, content music, ads, podcasts, and similar creative works).

If you receive a platform claim or a dispute, it’s typically because of third-party systems, overlapping content, or similarities to other public releases. In those cases, keep your purchase proof and contact support so we can help: Contact@Exoticmusic.us.

Note: we cannot guarantee automated platform systems will never flag content, especially if you use an unmodified template melody. To reduce risk, customize your arrangement and ensure your production is clearly original.

4) Can I use the sounds in client work (ads, films, podcasts, games, branded content)?

Yes. You can use our sounds in both personal and commercial work, including client projects such as: films, TV, radio, documentaries, commercials, video games, podcasts, apps, websites, school projects, theater, live events, and prototypes.

The license is intended for a single user (one end-user). That means you (the purchaser) can use the sounds in projects you create. If a client wants to receive the raw pack files for their own library or reuse across multiple productions without you, they should purchase their own license.

If you’re a team/studio with multiple producers sharing the same library, contact us for guidance on multi-user licensing.

5) Do I need to credit Exotic Music?

No. You do not need to credit Exotic Music, Sales Group, or any affiliated brand for standard use. Attribution is not required for releases, client work, or monetized content.

However, you may not use a producer/artist/vocalist name from a purchased pack as the title or branding of your song in a way that implies endorsement or ownership.

6) Can I resell, share, trade, or redistribute the packs, presets, templates, or soundbanks?

No. Sharing, reselling, trading, re-uploading, or redistributing any part of our products is strictly forbidden — whether it’s the full pack, individual WAV/MIDI files, presets, project files, stems, or extracted soundbanks.

This restriction applies even if:

  • you give it away for free,
  • you “bundle” it with another product,
  • you upload it to a private drive for others,
  • you include it in a “sample library” product, or
  • you publish it as a standalone downloadable asset.

You are licensed to use the sounds inside your creative projects — not to distribute the raw files.

7) Template & project file rules: what is the “50% change” requirement?

Some products include templates/project files (for learning and inspiration). You may use sound elements from templates in your own tracks, but you must significantly modify the original musical identity.

The rule: If you use a template/project file, you must modify the melody and chord progression by at least 50% compared to the original template. This helps ensure your final track is clearly original.

Practical examples

✅ Change chord voicings, swap chord order, change key, rewrite the melody, alter rhythm patterns, add your own counter-melodies, and redesign sounds.
❌ Do not simply export the template as-is (or nearly identical) and release it as your finished track.

If your final track is too close to the original template, it may be recognizable. To stay safe, always customize the composition, arrangement, and sound design — and make your release your own.

8) Can I release template files “as-is” as my own finished tracks?

No. You may not export or release any project file/template in its original form (or close to it) as your own finished track, and you may not register the copyrights as your own for the original underlying composition.

Templates are intended for learning, inspiration, and production practice. They are not a “ready-made song for release.” If you want full rights to a specific song/template, that requires a separate agreement or purchase of full rights (where offered).

9) Can I upload “standalone loops” to YouTube/Spotify as a product or long loop video?

You can upload your own original song or beat that includes our sounds. However, uploading the raw loops in their original form as “standalone content” (for example, a video that is essentially the unmodified loop) can be considered redistribution and is not permitted.

If you want to use loops for content (like a background track), transform them into an original production: add structure, variation, additional layers, processing, and your own creative direction.

10) Can I use the samples in sample-based genres, remixes, or beat sales?

Yes — you can use the sounds to create beats and songs that you sell or license to others (for example, beat licenses), as long as you are not transferring or distributing the raw pack files themselves.

If you sell a beat, your customer is buying your finished production, not the pack contents. Keep the pack files private and do not include them as “bonus content.”

11) Can I use Exotic Music products to train AI or machine learning models?

No. Using our products to train AI (including generative models, voice/music synthesis, or dataset building) requires a separate written license. This includes training on raw files, extracted stems, or processed versions intended to replicate the library.

If you have a research or commercial AI project and need permission, email: Contact@Exoticmusic.us.

12) What if I accidentally shared files or used them incorrectly?

If you believe you may have violated the restrictions (for example, you uploaded raw files somewhere by mistake), contact us immediately so we can help you correct it.

We prefer to resolve issues quickly and fairly. In many cases, removing a link/upload and confirming compliance solves the problem.

13) Do I own the copyrights to songs I make using the packs?

You own the rights to your original song/beat/production that you create, subject to the license restrictions and the requirement that you do not claim ownership over the original pack files or any unmodified template compositions.

If you used a template, make sure you followed the “50% change” rule for melody and chord progression, and that your track is meaningfully original.

14) What do I receive after purchase, and do I need special software?

Our products are delivered digitally, typically as a ZIP file. You will need an unzip tool to extract the files. Most computers and phones support ZIP files, but if you have issues, use a trusted unzip utility (for example, 7-Zip or similar).

If you cannot open the ZIP, try downloading on a desktop computer, re-downloading, or using another unzip tool. If it still fails, contact support and we’ll help you get access.

15) Where can I read the full License Agreement?

This FAQ is a simplified, customer-friendly explanation. The full terms are available on our License Agreement page: /pages/license-agreement.

If there is any conflict between this FAQ and the License Agreement, the License Agreement controls.

Still unsure if your use case is allowed? Tell us what you’re doing (platform + type of project + whether you’re using a template) and we’ll confirm fast.
